"Dr. Manuel is the hospitalist who came to assess J. on behalf of Dr. D.C.. Dr. Manuel was clear in asking questions, in giving a standard test of manual commands, and gathering information from J. As well, he took a personal interest in being sure that understood the level of his concern for J's presenting symptoms. This made all the difference in J's decision to be admitted."
One thing that separates us from other hospitalists is the amount of time and attention we devote to each one of our patients. I myself make it a point to never see the kind of volume of patients that some other hospitalists do. Seeing huge numbers of patients every day is not only against certain hospital policies, but it simply makes it impossible to provide the kind of quality care you or your patient deserves. I typically keep my own census below
ten patients per day, which is about as low as you'll find out there.
This allows me to maintain the high standards I set for myself and ensure the degree of patient satisfaction on which I stake my reputation.
