A hospitalist is a doctor who takes care of patients only in the hospital. When you are sick, the hospitalist acts as your primary care physician during your hospital stay. Hospitalists are responsible for deciding which specialists need to be called to see you, and after that happens, for helping you make sense of it all. And when you are better, the hospitalist is the one who writes your medications and makes sure you understand what to do after you go home.
Our group was formed to put the patient back in hospital patient care. Each of our physicians has chosen to join a group that will place the patient’s interests first. We take time with our patients; we make our decisions deliberately, carefully, not in order to maximize the quota of patients seen.
Ours is a new kind of hospitalist group, formed to combat the trend of making life decisions on the basis of business valuations. As one of our patients you will see the focus is on getting you better, not getting you out. Visits will not be rushed. Questions will not be left unanswered. Diagnosis and treatment plans will be thoroughly explained, so you can make the most informed decision possible. This is what the art of medicine is supposed to be. This is what we have lost over time. And this is what our group will try to revive. Talk to your primary care doctor. Tell him or her to contact us for more information.
