Interpol - turn on the bright lights (2002) standard, but competent UK (except it's NYC) pop which doesn't quite seem to have a fully developed style but is more of an amalgamation of earlier styles. with each track, you may get something different, ranging from a tamer version of coldplay, arcade fire, the strokes, blur, or even iggy pop and joy division at times. Amazon says, “Think Joy Division meets Psychedelic Furs, Echo & the Bunnymen and the Smiths.” i tend to agree with this. so if you live in NYC and couldn't get tickets to the strokes or something else. then i understand. but i’m not going to give them credit for adding anything new, since they haven’t.
