Story does not engage or keep my attention near the level of a Bergman film, but the film stock (grain/contrast) and footage itself is pretty damn gorgeous, particularly when indoors (in apartment kitchens in front of windows especially). In fact, I would say it justifies itself on that alone. That said, the film gets fairly tedious at times, the lead actress is not especially compelling (hardly compelling at all in fact, although the young male lead certainly is vitalic). I’m thinking I probably will not be curious blue or red though. At least not until I've seen every Bergman film made (and that's a lot of films).
