I enjoyed this movie a lot. The influence of Tarkovsky (Mirror, Nostalghia) is clearly felt, which is not surprising when you come to learn Angelopoulos was a friend of Tarkovsky in real life.

I’ve seen three Angelopoulos films. Eternity and a Day, Landscape in the Mist, and The Weeping Meadow. I probably enjoyed Eternity the most. I liked Landscape as well. I found The Weeping Meadow a visual spectacular (like any long-shot Angelopoulos film), but pretty damn draining in its length, gravitas, and overall depressed-me factor. I will see more Angelopoulos films I hope.
