Incredible. I’ve never seen a movie like this. Most films alternate between plot development and emotional crescendos.1 This entire film is one emotional crescendo interspersed with brief moments of calm, which are really just emotional crescendos in disguise. By the end, you’re worn out. But it’s worth it. And the scenery, my God the scenery. This is painting on the level of gauguin.

1 I know it’s not a noun, thank you, ass-of time-wipe.
