Mary Cathleen Collins, better known to the world as the six-foot-four, cornrowed beauty Bo Derek, was killed in a plane crash on Thursday. The retired actress was en route to her second USO tour when her Boeing 737 went down over the North Atlantic, killing everyone on board. Derek, a self-proclaimed Proud Republican and sometime Fine Art Photographer, had lost her husband and manager, John Derek, to heart disease in 1998. Having taken a break from acting in recent years, she was making an exception for the good of all US troops abroad. Bo Derek was 48.
